In their latest matchup, the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys faced off with the former almost guaranteed the top seed in the NFC and the latter on track for the top wild-card position.

While the Eagles were already secure in their standing, the Cowboys sought to demonstrate their worth as a contender among the NFL’s elite.

Despite the absence of Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, the Cowboys made a strong case for themselves with a 40-point outing against the NFL’s second-ranked defense.

Dak Prescott had a standout performance, completing 27 of 35 passes for 347 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, as well as adding 41 yards on the ground. The Eagles struggled to defend Prescott, particularly when employing zone coverage.

CeeDee Lamb continues to excel as Dallas’ primary target for quarterback Dak Prescott, recording 10 receptions for 120 yards and two touchdowns in the recent game against the Eagles.

Additionally, veteran receiver T.Y. Hilton, making his debut with the Cowboys, made a significant contribution with a crucial 51-yard catch on third-and-30, setting up a game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Hilton’s presence may have originally been seen as a disappointment to Cowboys fans hoping for the acquisition of Odell Beckham Jr., but his ability to bring a vertical element to the offense could make the team’s passing attack even more formidable.

It is worth noting that the Eagles, who nearly completed a season sweep of the Cowboys with their backup quarterback starting, will likely be eager for a rematch in the playoffs with starter Jalen Hurts back on the field.

This potential postseason matchup, whether in the divisional round or for the NFC championship, is one that the football world is anticipating with both teams having previously defeated the other with the opposing starting quarterback absent.

It will be interesting to see how the game plays out with both teams at full strength and with everything on the line.
