Jalen Hurts to return in week 18

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is expected to be able to play in Week 18 after missing time due to a shoulder injury.

The extent of Hurts’ involvement in the final regular season game against the New York Giants will depend on the outcome of the Eagles’ matchup with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

If the Eagles win, it will not be necessary for Hurts to play in Week 18, although he may still see some action to shake off any rust from his absence. If the Eagles lose, Hurts is expected to return for the game against the Giants.

The Eagles are one win away from securing home-field advantage throughout the postseason.

Head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed to NFL Network’s Stacey Dales that Gardner Minshew will start in Sunday’s game, and Jalen Hurts, who is listed as doubtful, will not play.

Hurts suffered an SC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder in the team’s Week 15 game against the Chicago Bears and returned to practice in a limited capacity on Thursday and Friday.

However, a source told Schefter that the Eagles have no concerns about Hurts’ effectiveness or availability for the playoffs.

Prior to the injury, Hurts was having a standout season and was a candidate for MVP with a passer rating of 104.6, 22 touchdowns, and an average of 248 passing yards per game, all of which are career highs.
